A CHRISTIAN MOTHER'S LOVE AND PRAYERS
|
My friend, I know God hears a mother’s prayer. There have been mother’s prayers that have touched and changed the lives of her children. I know my own mother’s prayers touched heaven. I have such an appreciation for her. She told me the other day she had prayed for me more than any of us five children. Not because she favored me more, but because I needed it the most.
I tell you that a Christian mother’s love and prayers is a deterrent for every lost son, daughter and grandchild she has. A Christian mother is to be treasured. My mother is a Godly woman. Perhaps there are many of you whose mothers are gone. You’ve laid them to rest. You’ll meet them on the other shore if they were saved and you are saved. Our mother’s prayers follow us. Our mother’s prayers are our strength. 
In II Timothy 1:5, Paul said to Timothy, “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also…” Timothy, the good that you have, I saw it in your grandmother. I saw it in your mother and now I see it in you. Godly, saintly, praying, loving mothers and grandmothers do more to decide the destiny of the home than perhaps anyone else in the home.
A praying mother is to be treasured. I thank God for my praying mother. Many of you have praying mothers. I thank God for Angie’s praying mother. Mother’s who know how to pray and get a hold of God. Mothers who know what it is to cry tears and get through to heaven.
You see, as a teenager I rebelled and turned my back on God. For several years, I put my mom and dad through hell on earth with some of the things I was involved in. I was so deeply involved in the things of the world that there were times I really believed there was no way I could turn back to God. I finally hit rock bottom.
I sat on the floor of my house that had just been emptied of everything of value. I looked at the trash that littered the floor around me. Then I looked at my life and saw another heap of trash. I thought for a long time before deciding on the only solution to life: end it. I picked up my .45 and loaded it. This wasn’t the first time I had stared death in the face.
This time I would keep my appointment and get it over with. At 21 years of age, I had nothing or no one left to live for. Payday had come for me. I wondered how my life had come to this.
I didn’t recognize the voice then, but I know now who it was. The devil began to encourage me to quit thinking and shoot. As I lifted the gun up under my chin, I said, “Lord, if You’re listening to me, I need your help.” When I said, “Help,” the telephone rang. I picked it up and heard mom. She was calling from Joplin, Missouri. She said, “Tim, I was praying for you. I had to call you right now. Are you okay?” I lowered the gun and said without thinking, “Mom, I want to come home.” Thank God for my praying mom!

You know, one of these days I’m going to lay my mom in a shiny casket, as some of you have already done. We’re going to go to her funeral if the Lord doesn’t come first. Oh, I dread that day. Not because I fear where she’s going, but because of the loss of someone who has meant so much to me. She sacrificed so much and loved so much. There’s not a lot of time that goes by before she lets us know of her love and prayers. One of these days we’re going to have a memorial service for my mom. We’re going to walk by her casket and we’re going to look into her lifeless face. She’s the one who toiled, whose hands are wrinkled, and whose face is wrinkled because she toiled so tirelessly to raise three boys and two girls. That was a full time job I’m sure.
The day will come when that funeral train is going to go out to the cemetery and there’s going to be that deep hole, a cavity in the earth. They’re going to lower that shiny casket into the earth, pile the dirt on and cover it up with beautiful flowers. There’s going to be a lot of weeping and crying when my mother goes on her home going, where she gets promoted to glory.
They may bury my mother and yours. They may put them in a casket. They may bury them in the cold ground in the cemetery where the rain, wind and snow will cover their earthly bodies. But, one thing they’re not going to do is bury my mother’s prayers and love. They may bury your mother and mine, but her prayers are going to go on reaching out to sons, daughters, grandchildren and to you and me. Mother’s prayers are going to stay alive. She may go, but not her love and not her prayers. They’re still alive. Your mother’s love and mine can’t be buried in a cemetery. You mother's prayers can’t be locked in a casket.
Thank God for giving us mothers who love Him and serve Him. If sons, daughters and grandchildren go to hell, they’ll have to climb right over their Christian mother’s love and prayers to get there. If your mother is serving God, take time today to thank her and to thank God for her. If your mother is not serving the Lord, take time to let her know that you are praying for her salvation.

Our open air India Crusade in Palayamkottai brought a rich harvest of souls. We thank the Lord that literally thousands of souls were saved. What a joy in heaven over every sinner saved and every soul delivered from the clutches of Satan. The Holy Spirit of God fell so strong in each service.
In this powerful crusade we witnessed hundreds of people being healed. One man testified, “For the past five years I was unable to walk. Now after prayer at the crusade, I have started to walk. I felt my nerves being pulled. God has touched my nerves.” One lady who had been mute from birth was instantly healed. The very first word she spoke was, “JESUS”. She testified for a very long time. I guess, after not speaking for 38 years she had a lot to say. The crowd was roaring praises to the Lord!

It has become evident to me that India is entering a new spiritual era. Things have changed so much for the better. Last year’s crusade in Coimbatore was a complete success. However, it is safe to say that this is the mightiest move of God I have ever witnessed. An army of God’s people in India are ready to answer the call of God to “possess the land.”

I believe God wants to consume all of India with His Holy Spirit. It can only take place with the fire and the power from above.
Fire is not an extra, a reward for good service, or a spiritual luxury. The Holy Spirit fire is not reserved just for the super-spiritual believers. God does not keep His fire only for those who prove themselves, or keep all the evangelical rules of perfection. Our need makes us worthy to receive! It is God’s gift to all, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh.” Fire is our first requirement if we are to be effective witnesses. His will is our future. Outside His will there is nothing. If we don’t follow His purposes we are wasted products; scraps on the workroom floor.
